Broken solar cells
58 x 73 cm.

Research with the department of Micro and Nano technology of DTU – the Danish Technical University, estimates that the average life expectancy of a silicon solar cell is 184 years. In that period of time the electrical activity slowly degrade until stopped, and the solar cell finally only represents its former function and the framed panels will have become images left behind from an ongoing exposure lasting 184 years.
