About the artist
Jesper Dalgaard (b. 1974, Denmark) graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2001.
Dalgaard primarily works with sculptures and large installations. For many years he has made his mark on the Danish art scene with carefully constructed miniature models in the form of hanging planets and post-apocalyptic sci-fi landscapes.
Dalgaard’s production of works is usually based on the idea of starting over. In imaginative future scenarios of both utopian and dystopian nature, built as floating miniature worlds, model interiors or total installations in 1: 1, we are beamed as a viewer directly into the role of a distant future resident who must cope with another time and another universe than what we know.
Furthermore he is the initiator of Tin Foil. A cultural and intellectual forum and a t-shirt brand with a political agenda.
