About the artist
Johanne Skovbo Lasgaard is born in 1985 in Denmark. She graduated MFA in 2013 at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
With Lasgaard the materiality itself is the narrative. Through the physical experience she maintains continuity in her practice, arising from a focus on the process, the repetition and on a material sensibility. Her practice is formed as a series of events that characterize the recent year or years. Her works are like personal memories. Dynamic objects that can be reversed, get re-titled, or melt and re-appear in new contexts – like sour dough for any future works and projects.
